Primary purpose of Drilling fluids (mud chemicals) is
a) Provide hydrostatic pressure to prevent formation fluids from entering into well bore.
b) Keeping the drill bit cool and clean during drilling.
c) Carrying out drill cuttings, suspending the drill cuttings for retrieval while drilling is paused.

Excelex manufactures chemicals which function as Filtration Control Agents, Shale Inhibitors & Stabilizers, Deflocculates, etc.

    Test In Saturated Salt Water Base Fluid
    35 ppb CaCo3 (sized) + 1.75 ppb Xanthan + 5.25 ppb product, pH adjusted to 9.5, Hot rolled at 16 Hrs at 140 Dec. C.

    Filtrate (Api 13 a, section 11.5) Less than 10 ml .
    Residue greater than 2000 micrometers (Api 13 A, section 11.7) No residue.

    PAC LV comes in three concentrations as per active matter content :

    PERFORMANCE TEST


    Add 42 ± 0.01 gm of Sea Salt to 1.0 litre of deionised water. Take 358 gms of above Sea Salt Solution & add 35.0 ± 0.01 gm Potassium Chloride. After stirring for 3 min add 1.0 ± 0.01 gm of Sodium Bicarbonate. After Stirring for 3 min, add 28 ± 0.01 gm API Standard Evaluation Base Clay. After stirring for 5 min, scrape the side of the container with spatula to dislodge the material adhering to the container. Continue stirring for additional 5 min. Weigh 2 ± 0.01 gm PAC LV & add slowly to the above in about 1 min while stirring on the mixer. After stirring for 5 min, side scraping be done as earlier & stir further for 5 min & 10 min. Total Mixing time 20 min. Age the suspension for 16 ± 0.5 hrs in a sealed container at 25 ± 0.5oC. After ageing stir the for 5 min & test for API Fluid Loss.
    Fluid loss shall not be more than 25.0 ml.
